ImPerfect is set to return next week, continuing its exploration of body image, confidence, and the pressures to live up to societal expectations.
The podcast, hosted by comedian and broadcaster Darren Harriott, has already established itself as a space for honest and wide-ranging conversations, bringing together expert voices and personal experiences.
In its first season, Darren spoke with NHS doctor and nutritionist Dr Joshua Wolrich about food noise and wellness advice, consultant clinical psychologist Dr Denise Ratcliffe about breaking the shame cycle, comedian Dave Chawner about anorexia and masculinity, creator Cat Sims about self-esteem and addiction, fat activist Virgie Tovar about Ozempic and weight stigma, and broadcaster Zoe Hardman about eating-disorder recovery and motherhood.
Each episode examines the pressures that shape self-image, while maintaining a tone that balances humour and compassion.
Darren’s approach encourages guests to share openly about the challenges and realities of living in a world that often demands self-improvement.
The new run opens with broadcaster and campaigner Molly Forbes, discussing weight stigma and the early age at which children begin to receive messages about body size.
The episode addresses the impact of these attitudes and the importance of how adults talk about weight around young people.
Hannah Byczkowski, known from The Traitors, joins Darren to talk about her journey into comedy, building confidence, and learning not to care about external opinions.
Comedian Dean Vary, who will also feature, discusses comedy, body image, and how others perceive physical appearance.
Darren says: “We’re all surrounded by messages telling us we need to look better, achieve more and somehow become a more acceptable version of ourselves.
“With ImPerfect, I want to have honest conversations about that pressure—while still finding the humour in the everyday madness of it all.”
The new episodes of ImPerfect begin on 2nd September.
