Scotland star Aaron Hickey’s girlfriend left fans talking after sharing a series of photos from the national team’s World Cup opener against Haiti.
The model and influencer, known online as maryy.hs, was among the Scotland supporters inside Boston Stadium as Steve Clarke’s side kicked off their World Cup campaign. But it wasn’t just the result that caught the attention of fans.
The 23-year-old social media star posted a collection of photos from the match, proudly showing her support for boyfriend Hickey as he represented his country in the nation’s first world cup since 1998. Among the images were snaps of Mary posing in a Scotland shirt from her seat in the stands, soaking up the atmosphere alongside the famous Tartan Army.
However, one detail in particular stood out, as Mary shared a snap of her nails. Sharing a close up photo of her nail design, Mary proudly displayed a number two on her ring finger, which is a subtle nod to Hickey’s squad number.
The post quickly drew attention from football fans, many of whom were delighted to see the influencer publicly backing the Brentford defender during one of the biggest moments of his career.
With one comment reading: “The World Cup looks good on you ;),” as Hickey showed his support for his girlfriend, leaving a red heart emoji in her comments.
Despite both enjoying large social media followings, Hickey and Mary have kept their relationship out of the spotlight. It is believed the pair have been together for around three years, although neither regularly share details of their relationship online.
Hickey, 24, has only featured Mary on his Instagram account once, with the footballer sharing a photo dump in November last year, which featured a candid snap of Mary riding a Lime bike during a trip to Paris.
Similarly, Mary has kept their romance off of social media, only posting subtle hints such as bouquets of flowers and her in the stands at Brentford games. One of rare occasions she has posted a photo of them together came in 2024 when she marked his birthday with a series of snaps.
The images included the pair on holiday looking cosy together on a boat, Hickey driving his car and Mary wearing a Brentford shirt featuring his name and number on the back.
Away from her relationship with Hickey, Mary has built an impressive following online. She boasts more than 202,000 followers on Instagram and over 321,000 on TikTok, where she regularly shares fashion and lifestyle content, including the occasional date night outfit.
Her large following has seen her work as a model with a number of major fashion brands throughout the years, including Ego, ASOS, Fashion Nova and PrettyLittleThing.
The couple have enjoyed a number of trips together over the years, travelling to destinations such as Greece, Italy, Dubai and Paris. However, their latest outing may prove to be their most memorable yet, with Mary proudly cheering Hickey on as Scotland began their World Cup journey in the United States.
