KT Tunstall reveals cut song and behind-the-scenes secrets from The Devil Wears Prada 2
KT shared exactly what happened behind the scenes at the festival in Hylands Park before playing the original song. She admitted that she used some of the lyrics from Suddenly I See as “nobody would sue” her.
She said: “Do you want to know a wee secret? I did write a song for the second one [Devil Wears Prada 2]. I went for a meeting with them and they were like ‘what’s your idea?’
“And I was like, you know it’s just 20 years later and I might steal some of the lyrics from the original song because no one is going to sue me for using them.
“And I’ll just do something rocking about it being 20 years later. And they were like ‘brilliant’, and I recorded it and they were like ‘nah’.
“So in a parallel, better, universe, this is the song at the start of Devil Wears Prada 2. are you ready?”
KT then went on the play her song, Look at Me Now, to the packed festival audience. The song was mostly played on guitar and had a 2000s feel to it, which was very similar to Suddenly I See.
