Ghetto Film School has integrated a podcast curriculum into its redesigned 20-month Fellowship, reflecting the growing importance of audio storytelling in media education.

The new curriculum, developed in partnership with MOSH Audio, will be a core part of the summer programme, providing Fellows with practical skills in sound recording, listening, and community building.

Ché Chisholm, Chief Executive Officer at Ghetto Film School, said: “GFS is incredibly excited to partner with MOSH Audio to build our foundational podcasting curriculum that will empower our Fellows to explore and expand their storytelling boundaries through the power of sound.”

The collaboration begins this summer with a four-session series, giving high-school aged Fellows hands-on experience in podcasting as a complement to their filmmaking work.

Chisholm added that the curriculum is designed to reflect the future of storytelling and the influence of new modes of expression.

Sarah Hack, Co-Founder of MOSH Audio, explained that the partnership recognises the shift away from training students for isolated careers in film, television, or audio: “GFS is ahead of the curve, understanding that stories should be incubated across platforms. So the education has to match.”

Allison Thompson, Creative Operations Lead at MOSH, said the joint effort aims to connect students with professionals across the audio industry and prepare them for the modern media landscape: “We wanted to build something that reflects how storytelling actually works today, as part of a broader content ecosystem, not an isolated project.”

The redesigned Fellowship keeps filmmaking central but now ensures that Fellows are equipped with the skills needed to navigate and contribute to a cross-platform media environment.

GFS has bases in New York City, Los Angeles and London.
