Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey<\/a> have brought the biggest collective box office in history.<\/p>\n The $355 million domestic opening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a> combined with The Odyssey\u2019s $51 million in its third weekend to bring the overall total to roughly $430 million, according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n This figure overtakes the $402 million total from the opening weekend of Avengers: Endgame, which previously held the record for top weekend.<\/p>\n The Spider-Man MCU series has already demonstrated its ability to draw a big audience with Spider-Man: No Way Home, which opened to $260 million domestic \u2013 the second biggest domestic opening weekend ever \u2013 and $600 million worldwide back in December 2021.<\/p>\n But Brand New Day, which stars Tom Holland in his fourth solo outing as Spidey, as well as Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal, has completely exceeded expectations for the franchise, opening to strong critical acclaim and $927 million worldwide at the box office. <\/p>\n The film may be on its way to eventually surpassing $2 billion at the global box office.<\/p>\n The Odyssey continues to exceed expectations too, raking in $911 million worldwide after three weekends in cinemas.<\/p>\n
