Seth MacFarlane<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s next project: delving into one classic collection of songs and giving them a different kind of classic treatment. On his new album Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets<\/em>, the award-winning entertainer will take a spin through the Jim Henson universe, performing tunes from Sesame Street<\/em>, The Muppet Show<\/em>, and the various Muppet movies with orchestral arrangements in the style of vocal jazz\u2019s greatest crooners. The album will be out Sept. 18 on Verve Records\/Republic Records and is available for pre-order now.<\/p>\n Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets<\/em> mostly comprises songs from the classic Muppet films The Muppet Movie<\/em>, The Great Muppet Caper<\/em>, and The Muppets Take Manhattan<\/em>. The tracklist is rounded out by favorites from Sesame Street<\/em> and The Muppet Show<\/em>. Originally written by Joe Raposo, Paul Williams, and Jeff Moss, songs such as \u201cTogether Again\u201d and \u201cRainbow Connection\u201d have been given fresh life via orchestrations by Andrew Cottee, starting with Kermit the Frog\u2019s signature song \u201cBein\u2019 Green,\u201d out now as the album\u2019s lead single. It\u2019s MacFarlane\u2019s contribution to a long history of \u201cBein\u2019 Green\u201d covers by artists including Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and Van Morrison.<\/p>\n \u201cSongs from Sesame Street<\/em>, The Muppet Show<\/em>, and the Muppet films became bona fide standards,\u201d MacFarlane says. \u201cMy friend and the arranger of this album, Andrew Cottee, and I are contemporaries, and we both had fond memories of all those great Muppet songs from that era.
