A few different words dominated our feeds in 2025. There was \u2018rage bait\u2019, \u2018parasocial\u2019<\/a>, and of course, \u2018manifest\u2019.<\/p>\n

And what will make the cut this year? We\u2019d like to make a suggestion: nipple.<\/p>\n

From Kim Kardashian<\/a>\u2019s iconic SKIMS<\/a> nipple push-up bra to Chappell Roan\u2019s very deliberate nip slip at Paris<\/a> Fashion Week, nipples have been at the forefront of pop culture in 2026.<\/p>\n

And, as it turns out, they\u2019ve also had a starring role in the bedroom<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Porn platform Lustery recently shared that searches for \u2018nipple sucking\u2019 soared by 79% in just two weeks, reflecting a pretty massive spike in interest.<\/p>\n

Butt cracks<\/a> and earlobes<\/a> might be on the agenda for some lovers, but for many, the humble nipple is not only an exciting side dish, but the main course.<\/p>\n

In a subreddit dedicated to women\u2019s health, one user, @NorthFish5721, shared that her \u2018nipples seem hard-wired to [her] clitoris\u2019, adding \u2018my orgasms are much stronger with nipple stimulation.\u2019<\/p>\n

Another woman, @ErikaKarla, notably called it the \u2018best feeling in the world\u2019.<\/p>\n

Over the past year, there have been dozens of posts about \u2018nipple play\u2019 in a number of subreddits for gay men.<\/p>\n

@tangledlettuce described it as an \u2018instant boner button\u2019, while @sebago claimed that nipple \u2018twisting\u2019 gives him a much more intense orgasm.<\/p>\n

One user, @thechuckles79, even shared that they went through a period where nipple play was \u2018required\u2019 in order for them to climax.<\/p>\n

Why are nipples having a moment right now?<\/h2>\n

With hundreds of nerve endings, nipples are highly responsive to touch, pressure, and temperature. Plus, when your nipples are stimulated, it sends signals to the genital sensory cortex in the brain \u2014 the same region activated by clitoral or penile stimulation.<\/p>\n

Depending on your preference, the sensitivity can either be incredibly pleasurable or extremely off-putting.<\/p>\n

But even though nipples have long been considered one of the primary erogenous zones, sex experts says it\u2019s now that they\u2019re having their moment in the sun.<\/p>\n

Sex therapist Becky Crepsley-Fox attributes this new porn preferences. <\/p>\n

For example, she mentions \u2018the rise of ethical and female-focused porn\u2019, explaining that viewers now have access to \u2018more scenes that aren\u2019t centred on penetration.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The growing international reach of Japanese adult video, which often places a strong emphasis on nipple play, has also introduced it to wider audiences,\u2019 she adds.<\/p>\n

\u2018On top of that, people are talking far more openly about pleasure online. When someone shares their experience on social media<\/a>, it gives others permission to get curious too.\u2019<\/p>\n

How could nipple play lead to better orgasms?<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s clear that both women and men get a lot of pleasure from nipple play, although the appeal may show up differently.<\/p>\n

Becky shares that \u2018for many women, nipple play is an expected part of foreplay and a way to build arousal slowly.<\/p>\n

\u2018For many men, nipples are often overlooked altogether, so discovering how sensitive they can be may feel like a surprising new source of pleasure. <\/p>\n

\u2018Some men still hold back because it doesn\u2019t fit their idea of what \u201cmale\u201d pleasure should look like.\u2019<\/p>\n

Becky does add that will some people people report orgasming from nipple play alone, \u2018it\u2019s less common\u2019, but says: \u2018Given how closely the nipples are linked to the genital area of the brain, it\u2019s not surprising that it\u2019s possible.\u2019<\/p>\n

By pairing genital touch with nipple stimulation (either with your hands or your tongue), some people say their orgasms feel \u2018fuller\u2019 and \u2018more intense\u2019. <\/p>\n

And, Becky adds, given the fact that research suggests that fewer than one in five women orgasm from penetration alone, nipple play is well worth exploring.<\/p>\n
