Alan Carr<\/a> has been presented with the Special Recognition Award at the National Television Awards.<\/p>\n The award was a surprise to the comedian, and he became visibly emotional when he realised it was him who was been referred to on stage. The comic, who triumphed in The Celebrity Traitors<\/em> earlier in the year, said it only dawned on him when he saw he saw fellow contestant Paloma Faith<\/a> appear on the NTA<\/em> stage in a coffin, jokingly adding “I should have realised, they never put me in the front row, I’m always at the back with the people from Naked Attraction<\/em>“.<\/p>\n Carr, who also stars in ITV1<\/a> sitcom Changing Ends<\/a>, recently appeared in Last One Laughing UK<\/a> and has several other TV presenting jobs, including Amanda And Alan’s Greek Job<\/em>. The comic is also joining the judging line-up of the next series of The Masked Singer<\/em>.<\/p>\n Accepting the award, he said: “It’s amazing. It’s been very surreal and triggering. But thank you.”<\/p>\n
