It’s been confirmed that Amandaland<\/a> will return to television this December for another Christmas special.<\/p>\n The festive episode will air ahead of the third series of the sitcom, which is due on screens in 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n The BBC<\/a> says: “The award-winning series, starring Lucy Punch<\/a>, Joanna Lumley<\/a> and Philippa Dunne<\/a>, will return to BBC iPlayer<\/a> and BBC One<\/a> with a festive dose of So-Ha chaos, alongside Daisy Haggard<\/a> (Breeders<\/a>), who joins for the Christmas special as Amanda’s old friend, Millie.<\/p>\n “Lucy Punch<\/a> returns as Amanda, the self-appointed queen of So-Ha, and after a chance encounter with an old school friend, Amanda ditches her quiet family Christmas Eve plans and instead decides to throw a massive last-minute party to impress her.<\/p>\n “This could be Amanda’s way back into the high-flying circle of her ex-classmates so it has to be perfect – but she soon realises that it’s not easy organising a high-end party in 24 hours; no-one impressive is available at such short notice, so she has to cast her invitation net wider and wider as the hours tick down.”<\/p>\n Also returning for the episode are Samuel Anderson<\/a> as Mal, Rochenda Sandall<\/a> as Fi, Ekow Quartey<\/a> as JJ, Harriet Webb<\/a> as Abs, Cavan Clerkin<\/a> as Daniel, Rosie Cavaliero<\/a> as Claire, Alexander Shaw<\/a> as Manus, Miley Locke<\/a> as Georgie, Anya McKenna-Bruce<\/a> as Morten and Archie Smith<\/a> as Ned.<\/p>\n Amandaland<\/a>‘s 2025<\/a> Christmas special was the most watched comedy episode of last year, with over 7 million viewers watching in the first 28 days. This year’s special has been extended to an hour slot.<\/p>\n Lucy Punch<\/a> says: “There’s mistletoe, cheese straws and a middle-aged wannabe sexy Santa. We are all delighted to be back again for an Amandaland<\/a> Xmas Spesh!”<\/p>\n Writer and director Holly Walsh<\/a> and writer Laurence Rickard<\/a> comment: “We are utterly thrilled that the BBC<\/a> have given us the ultimate Christmas present of another special – and an hour long one at that!
