A few hours before Tom Glynn-Carney is due on the red carpet for season three of House of the Dragon<\/em><\/a>, London is absolutely chucking it down. The forecast has predicted showers all day, and already, puddles are destroying shoes in Tube stations across the city.<\/p>\n But Glynn-Carney\u2019s<\/a> not having it. \u201cIt won\u2019t be [raining], I\u2019ve decided,\u201d he tells me over the phone, as he gets ready. \u201cI\u2019ve told Mother Nature to pack it in. We just had a word before.\u201d<\/p>\n With great power (\u201cwell, it\u2019s more manifestation,\u201d he gently corrects) comes great responsibility. And protecting a velvet Gucci suit from the downpour seems as good as any. For the event, Glynn-Carney\u2019s in a polka dot tux from Gucci\u2019s 2022 collection, one of Alessandro Michele\u2019s<\/a> wilder outings. With padded shoulders and a slight kick flare to the trousers, it\u2019s \u201ca bit bolder, a bit braver\u201d than his usual. He subbed out the runway look\u2019s red bowtie for a white tie and some sunnies, adding a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute and a fistful of Emanuele Bicocchi Jewelry rings.<\/p>\n Thankfully, he can count on not being the most overdressed at the function. His fashion killer castmates \u2013 Emma D\u2019Arcy<\/a> (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Olivia Cooke<\/a> (Alicent Hightower) and Ewan Mitchell<\/a> (his murderous little bro Aemond Targaryen) \u2013 can be relied on to turn out. \u201cIt validates the choices that I’ve made,\u201d says Glynn-Carney of his castmates, \u201cIt’s great because I think we all compliment each other.\u201d He shouts out D\u2019Arcy as his number one, though. \u201cI think Emma dresses so well and has a really unique taste and eye for combinations and narrative. I love how Emma dresses.\u201d<\/p>\n But before any of that happens, Glynn-Carney has to actually, you know, get ready. From his suite at Raffles, the actor and his crew are pumping some increasingly hype tunes as his groomer gets to work. \u201cBefore, I went down to the spa and I had a few mellowing songs on because I haven’t been on my own really today. So I needed to just have a beat by myself just to recalibrate before everyone turned up,\u201d says Glynn-Carney. \u201cAnd now I’m kind of ramping up the energy to something a little bit more rousing, shall we say.\u201d (His mellow playlist includes the likes of Greta Van Fleet, Bon Iver and The Tallest Man on Earth.)<\/p>\n
