Bob Dylan<\/a> has given his insight into the positives and negatives of aging, saying you \u201coutlive the clocks that have been chasing you\u201d.<\/p>\n The iconic artist contributed\u00a0to a piece\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0New York Times<\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/i>on the occasion of\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s 80th\u00a0birthday today (June 14), with a\u00a0selection\u00a0of octogenarians\u00a0giving their perspective on what it means to hit that milestone.<\/p>\n Dylan, 85, opted not to address Trump directly or reference his politics, but instead gave a thoughtful reflection on his own experiences.<\/p>\n \u201cThe best thing about being 80 is that you outlive the clocks that have been chasing you,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0freedom from that lie that anything was ever under control.\u00a0You\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0chase the parade anymore.\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0an old king from some\u00a0vanished country.\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0harder to program.\u201d<\/p>\n He also pointed to some negatives, adding:\u00a0\u201cThe old fire in your heart still tells you to do this and that, but your body says we already did it.
