Phoenix died of a drug overdose on Halloween 1993 at just 23 years old. <span class=\"credit\">Corey Feldman\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He, along with co-stars Jerry O\u2019Connell and Wil Wheaton, attended \u201cStand By Me: The Film and Its Stars 40 Years Later\u201d at The Chicago Theatre Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Their co-star River Phoenix died of a drug overdose on Halloween 1993 at just 23 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Late Sunday night, Feldman <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DZmZUqtFoUf\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\">shared a carousel of photos and videos<\/a> to Instagram of him driving to Chicago for the event \u2014 stopping by Michael Jackson\u2019s childhood home in Gary, Indiana, on the way \u2014 and of the event itself.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the impromptu visit to Jackson\u2019s house happened to closely coincide with the 10th anniversary of the King of Pop\u2019s death, noting it was his way to \u201cpay respects\u201d to the late singer.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson died at the age of 50 after suffering a heart attack caused by a drug overdose on June 25, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re on our way to Chicago to tear it up,\u201d Feldman, who competed on \u201cDancing With the Stars\u201d last fall but was eliminated first, said in a video. \u201cGonna be a great night.
