Sex Pistols<\/a>\u00a0have announced a new reissue of their 1996 live album \u2018Filthy Lucre Live\u2019 to mark 30 years since the band\u2019s shock reunion.<\/p>\n The album captured their performance at London\u2019s Finsbury Park on June 23, 1996, with Johnny Rotten<\/a>, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and\u00a0Glen Matlock<\/a>\u00a0back on stage together\u00a0in\u00a0one of the decade\u2019s most unexpected\u00a0returns.<\/p>\n Now, \u2018Filthy Lucre Live\u2019 is set to be reissued on November 20 via UMR as a 2LP red vinyl set and single CD, featuring bonus tracks \u2018No Fun\u2019 and \u2018Buddies\u2019 for the first time on the release.\u00a0Pre-order your copy\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018No Fun\u2019 was the band\u2019s cover of\u00a0The Stooges<\/a>\u2019 song, while \u2018Buddies\u2019 is a crowd sing-along version of \u2018Bodies\u2019.\u00a0Both tracks previously appeared as Japanese bonus tracks.<\/p>\n The Finsbury Park show drew heavily on the band\u2019s only studio album, 1977\u2019s \u2018Never Mind The Bollocks, Here\u2019s The Sex Pistols\u2019, with the setlist featuring \u2018Anarchy In The U.K.\u2019, \u2018God Save The Queen\u2019, \u2018Holidays In The Sun\u2019 and \u2018Pretty Vacant\u2019.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Speaking about the reissue, Jones said: \u201cIt was 20 years on from when we initially broke up in \u201978 and it was always a debate that the Pistols couldn\u2019t play. I think \u2018Filthy Lucre\u2019 shows not only that we can play but we are a powerhouse. Long live rock\u2019n\u2019roll.\u201d<\/p>\n Cook added: \u201cIt\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0all about the \u2018filthy lucre\u2019 \u2013 that title was always ironic \u2013 it was about getting the original lineup behind \u2018Never Mind\u00a0The\u00a0Bollocks, Here\u2019s The Sex Pistols\u2019 back together and showing what we could really do. I loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u2018Filthy Lucre\u2019 tour was named after a 1976\u00a0Daily Express\u00a0<\/i>headline \u2013 \u201cPunk? Call It Filthy Lucre\u201d \u2013 and saw the band reunite after their original implosion at the end of a 1978 US tour, which concluded at San Francisco\u2019s Winterland Ballroom.\u00a0It also brought Matlock back into the fold, having left the group in 1977 before being replaced by the late\u00a0Sid Vicious<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Finsbury Park show came at the height of Britpop and Euro \u201996 fever.
