Karen Gillan was among the thousands of fans at Boston Stadium last night as Scotland scored their first World Cup victory since 1990.

The Scots actress, 38, was loud and proud in her support for the team as she shared a video of her enthusiastically singing along to I’m Gonna be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers last night on the way to the game.

In the clip, she can be seen with friends in the car belting out the Scottish anthem and flips the camera round to another kilted Scotsman in the street dancing along to the song with them.

Dressed in a blue Scotland top with the man beside her in a kilt, the Jumanji star captioned the video: “Da Da Da Da… Let’s go Scotland!”

Later in the stadium, she shared a clip of the crowd jumping along to Yes Sir, I Can Boogie after the match as she screams: “Go On Lads” in the background.

After Scotland’s win, sports fan Karen also mentioned The New York Knick’s NBA victory last night for the first time in 52 years.

She shared a snap of her with a shocked expression as she wrote: “Scotland AND The Knicks won??! WHAT A NIGHT.”

Fans ran to the comments to praise the post as one wrote: “Yass Scotland!!!” Another commented: “Imagine just walking down the road and you see Karen Gillan doing this to you.”

A third chimed in: “Oh yeahhh!”

Meanwhile an American follower replied: “The sheer joy of the Scotland fans is so infectious. I don’t even follow soccer but I think I have to be a Scotland fan now??”

Scotland secured a 1-0 win against Haiti last night in their first World Cup victory in 36 years and sent the team to the top of group C.

The Tartan Army went wild when John McGinn scored in the 28th minute which came as a vital win for the Scots.

A draw would have left them almost definitely needing to beat either Brazil or Morocco to progress to the knockout stages for the first time in history. However, they now stand a far better chance of succeeding.

Karen is just one of many famous Scots at yesterday’s game. Line of Duty star Martin Compston and Baby Reindeer’s Richard Gadd also shared some videos of them partying at fan zones in Boston ahead of the big day.

First Minister John Swinney and actor Gerard Butler were also in attendance after they were among the stars welcomed by a piper as they arrived at a Scottish Night in Boston Dinner and Gala Event at the Royale in Boston on Friday evening.

Butler wore a kilt and football shirt and gave a thumbs up as he arrived at the event held in aid of Street Soccer Scotland.

Meanwhile, Gordon Ramsay was spotted during Scotland’s final training session ahead of their World Cup opener.

He was presented with a personalised strip with ‘Ramsay 26’ on the back by captain Andy Robertson.

The Hell’s Kitchen chef later announced he was ‘giving back’ to Scotland fans and that anyone wearing a kilt would be given six free wings at his Gordon Ramsay Burger restaurant in Boston when buying a burger.
