Jeremy Clarkson’s girlfriend Lisa Hogan has spoken out after the 66-year-old revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis. The former Top Gear host shared the news with his nearest and dearest during the latest episode of Clarkson’s Farm.

He revealed that he had undergone surgery to remove 10 per cent of his prostate last summer. Lisa, 52, who has been with Jeremy since 2017, has now expressed her gratitude to fans on Instagram, thanking them for their support following the announcement.

She posted: “Back at the farm,” accompanied by a photo of Jeremy sitting in the sunshine. She then reshared a post from Prostate Cancer UK regarding the television star’s condition, adding: “Thank you for all the support today. @prostatecanceruk”.

During the latest episode of Jeremy’s popular Amazon show, now in its fifth season, he was discussing the harvest with farm manager Charlie Ireland and farmhand Kaleb Cooper when he suddenly disclosed his health situation. He informed the pair: “I’ve got cancer. I’ve known since May.”

Jeremy continued: “I had a medical, you remember back in May. I disappeared off the other week and I had a biopsy and it is cancer and it’s aggressive, but it’s really early so the treatment will be, you know.”

From a hospital bed at the end of the season finale, Clarkson revealed he had experienced complications during his treatment, the Mirror reports.

“We started season five with me in a hospital bed and here we are at the end of season five and I’m back in a hospital bed,” he said.

“What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t,” he added. Ending the series by stating: “Take care, everyone.”

Following the announcement, Prostate Cancer UK responded on social media, thanking the star for highlighting the issue and reminding men of the crucial importance of early detection.

The charity’s statement read: “We want to thank @JeremyClarkson1 for sharing his prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment in #ClarksonsFarm, raising vital awareness with the millions of men and families watching [blue heart emoji]”.

“Thankfully he found the disease at an early stage, but sadly this is still not the experience of many men across the UK.

“Over 10,000 dads, brothers, sons and friends are diagnosed too late for a cure every year, and today the responsibility to know if you’re at higher risk and to act on it rest entirely on men’s shoulders.

“This must change. Any men worried by Jeremy’s story should take our 30 second online Risk Checker or have a chat with their GP about a quick and simple blood test to check for any signs.”
