The new Love Island star doesn’t see his co-stars as competition
Four new bombshells are already ruffling feathers before they’ve even set foot in the main Love Island villa.
Newcomers Chidi, Finley, Halle and Tina have handpicked four Islanders to join them for a private sleepover in a separate residence.
ITV teased their arrival at the end of Tuesday’s (June 16) episode, which saw the villa receiving a text inviting Mica, Kavan, Simba and Yasmin to the slumber party.
This will likely lead to even more love triangles forming among the contestants, but one bombshell isn’t scared of the competition.
Speaking before his villa debut, Chidi confessed: “You could put me in a room with anyone, even Drake, and I’d still back myself. I never really see anyone as competition.”
He explained: “That’s not arrogance, it’s confidence. I know who I am, and I know what I bring to the table. At the end of the day, attraction is personal. No matter who’s in the room, someone’s still going to want to get to know me.”

Before jumping into the reality show, Chidi shared his simple strategy for finding love.
He told ITV: “I’ll go in, scope out the scene, and get a feel for everyone. You can usually tell pretty quickly who’s your type and who you connect with. Then I’ll pick the prettiest girl and go after her.”
As for his type on paper, the engineer is after a petite Islander who “takes care of herself”. He is is also drawn to “a girl who’s a little bit stuck-up and doesn’t just try to please everyone”.
Chidi added: “I like someone who’s a bit boujee but bubbly, kind, confident, and knows what she wants. Most importantly, I like a girl who’s genuinely into me and isn’t afraid to show it.”
