With the third season of The Pitt currently in production, we now know a host of new actors who will be joining the hit medical drama in recurring roles.

Those joining the series, according to Deadline, include Pruitt Taylor Vince (Superman), Malachi Beasley (A House of Dynamite), Cheyenne Perez (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Jeremy Radin (The Accountant 2), Charlz Williams (Seal Team) and Rosanny Zayas (The L Word: Generation Q).

Their characters are not yet known, but given the show’s history it seems likely that at least some of them will be playing patients and family members who appear in multiple episodes.

They join the show’s returning central cast, which has been confirmed to include Noah Wyle, Sepideh Moafi, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Patrick Ball, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Shawn Hatosy.

Ayesha Harris will also be a member of the main cast, with her character, Dr Parker Ellis, moving from the night shift to the day shift, and therefore becoming a more central player.

Wyle has previously confirmed that season 3 will be set in “early November, just before the holidays,” which he has said will usher in “a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications.”

Before that, he had told Variety that there wouldn’t be as substantial a time jump as there had been between seasons 1 and 2, saying the only one “we’re interested in making is to get into a different weather season, to get into a slightly different mode of cases that come with a change in weather.”

“If that was summer, then what happens in the winter when you get cold, snow and black ice,” he said.

The series is expected to return in January, following a similar schedule to the first two seasons when they aired in the US.

Due to the fact that HBO Max only launched in March in the UK, The Pitt season 2 is currently still airing new episodes weekly on this side of the pond, with the finale set to arrive tomorrow (Thursday 2 July).

The Pitt season 1 is available to watch on HBO Max in the UK now. Season 2 continues releasing new episodes weekly on Thursdays. Subscribe to HBO Max from £5.99 a month.
