U2 have released a brand new single, “Street of Dreams,” the first track to be taken from their yet-to-be-announced new studio album.
Released via Island Records, the song marks the first taste of U2’s first new studio album in nine years, which is due to arrive later this year.
Produced by Jacknife Lee, “Street of Dreams” features Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., delivering the band’s unmistakable sound as they approach a major milestone. This September, U2 will celebrate 50 years since their formation, after Larry Mullen Jr. posted a handwritten note on the noticeboard at Dublin’s Mount Temple Comprehensive reading: “Drummer seeks musicians to form band.”
The music video for “Street of Dreams” was shot in Mexico City in May, where the band also attended the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals Tournament at Parque Ecológico Lago de Texcoco.
The shoot near Plaza Santo Domingo drew a large crowd of fans despite thunder and rain. When the weather caused a generator to crash, a local family welcomed the band into their apartment, where filming continued on the balcony.
“Street of Dreams” is available now as a digital download and on streaming platforms.
