Podcast creators are increasingly turning to video to engage audiences, and Goalhanger is set to accelerate this shift through an expanded partnership with Getty Images.

The agreement gives Goalhanger access to thousands of editorial, archival and creative visuals from Getty Images, supporting its move towards video-first storytelling across its portfolio of shows.

As more listeners choose to watch as well as listen, the podcasting landscape is evolving into a multi-platform experience that covers streaming, social media and digital channels.

This partnership will allow Goalhanger to integrate trusted visual content into its growing slate of video-led programming, enhancing the way stories are told and experienced.

The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Getty Images’ content has already featured in Goalhanger’s multi-platform media brand, The Rest is Football, including near live imagery from the FIFA World Cup for a daily Netflix show.

Paul Davis, Vice President Media EMEA at Getty Images, commented: “Audiences increasingly expect stories to be experienced visually as well as heard.

“By combining trusted voices with trusted visuals, creators can build richer, more engaging experiences across platforms and reach audiences wherever they choose to consume content.”

Sam Oakley, Chief Digital Officer at Goalhanger, added: “Working with Getty Images gives us access to an extraordinary breadth of content that helps us bring stories to life and create deeper engagement with audiences across platforms.”

This development reflects the broader trend in podcasting, where video is playing a growing role in how content is produced and consumed.
