Bend it like Bieber.
Hailey Bieber is the latest celeb to revive a hair accessory that once ruled middle school hallways and cost about $5 at the drugstore.
The Rhode founder, 29, swept her hair back with a black plastic zig-zag headband for Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium, posting the look to her Instagram Stories.
It turned out to be a harbinger of luxury accessories to come. On Thursday, Miu Miu unveiled a campaign starring the model in the Italian house’s luxury take on the comb headband, made from metal and black calfskin with a logo at the temple and priced at $525.
Miuccia Prada brought the shape back at her fall 2026 show in March, sending the serrated bands down the runway on Chloë Sevigny, Gillian Anderson and Gemma Ward.
The style hit its pop culture peak in 2002, holding back Keira Knightley’s hair in her role as Jules Paxton in “Bend It Like Beckham.” The titular David Beckham was likewise a fan of headbands, and was photographed in a zig-zag version on several occasions off the pitch.
Bieber took her VIP seat at the match Sunday to support husband Justin Bieber, who sang “Everything Hallelujah” during the tournament’s first halftime show, sharing the bill with Madonna, Shakira and BTS.
The couple later celebrated Spain’s win over Argentina at an after-party at The Twenty Two, for which Hailey changed into a vintage John Galliano for Dior slip dress — one more souvenir from the aughts.
Her Gap denim capsule, released last week, works the same nostalgic angle, cut to ’90s proportions and stamped with 1996, the year she was born. It sold out within minutes of the launch.
The Miu Miu campaign is also a reunion: Bieber fronted the brand’s spring 2022 ads alongside Emma Corrin and Ever Anderson.
