Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, takes the next step in his comeback on Friday, when he fights Polish veteran Mariusz Wach, but this is a fight with a difference.
While boxers usually covet big attendances and huge purses, just 1,500 tickets were made available for Fury’s next bout and the money raised will go to charity.
The 37-year-old is set to take on Wach at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand – the country he has moved his training base to late last year.
The 10-round fight against Wach, a former contender whose physicality and durability represent a good test for Fury, comes in preparation for the long-awaited ‘Battle of Britain’ against Anthony Joshua, which is expected to take place later this year.
But unless you are one of the 1,500 who have tickets for the event, you may struggle to see it.

No, the fight between Tyson Fury and Mariusz Wach is not scheduled to be broadcast
The behind-closed-doors bout, which is taking place in front of a crowd of just 1,500 in Thailand, is not due to be broadcast.
In fact, Fury himself has confirmed that the only coverage of the bout will be in the third season of his Netflix docu-series.
He said: “This great fight will not be streamed live! It will only be broadcast on my hit Netflix TV show ‘At Home With The Furys’ season three.”
Fury has also rejected suggestions that he will travel to watch Joshua fight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh on Saturday.
He said: “I’m going home. I’ve got about as much interest in Anthony Joshua versus ‘some Pringles’ as I have of spewing that all over the floor. None. I’m going home. I’m not interested in AJ and his mate boxing.”
