Alongside his stellar acting career, Stanley Tucci has carved out a niche in the world of food and travel documentaries in recent years – with the Devil Wears Prada star having made several acclaimed series about Italian cuisine.
But for his next culinary adventure, Tucci will be swapping Italy for his adopted homeland of the UK, as he announced in a brief video shared on his social media channels back in June.
Now the star has revealed why he’s opted for the change of location, explaining n a new interview that there’s “so much here” to explore.
“I’ve been here for almost 15 years now, and London was just voted the best food destination in the world,” he said during an appearance on Variety‘s Awards Circuit Podcast.
“But I’m not just talking about fancy restaurants and all that. I’m talking about the UK as a whole. I think that the produce that’s here – the seafood that’s here, the meat that’s here, the devoted people like these fishermen or lobstermen, or a guy who raises pigs that will be like the best pork you’ll ever eat — that kind of stuff is amazing.”
He continued: “And then, really amazing chefs that are devoted to farm to table or farm to fork, I guess is the new expression.”
Tucci first moved into the world of food documentaries with Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy which ran on US network CNN for two seasons between 2021 and 2022, following him as he travelled across the nation and broke down it’s cuisine region by region.
He then returned in 2025 with follow-up show Tucci in Italy on National Geographic (and Disney Plus in the UK), with the second season arriving earlier this year.
Both versions of the show were hits, with Tucci winning Emmys for outstanding hosted nonfiction series on three separate occasions.
There is no release date for the new UK-based version of the show just yet, but he is currently filming the series – so we’ll keep you abreast of all the latest developments.
