Khloe Kardashian’s new Disney Plus show has been hit with complaints just hours after debuting
Disney+ viewers have issued the same complaint about Khloe Kardashian’s new reality show.
The Kardashian sister, 42, has branched away from her family’s TV dynasty to front a new series called The Girls. Instead of focusing on the lives of her parents and siblings, the six-part show shines a light on the women closest to Khloe.
It features her well-known friends Natalie Halcro, Khadijah Haqq, Malika Haqq, Yris Palmer, Olivia Pierson, and Nicole Williams English, as they juggle everything from motherhood to hectic careers.
The entire boxset dropped on Friday morning (August 21) and many fans have already binge watched it. But viewers have been quick to voice concerns about Khloe’s role on the show.
Unlike most reality series, The Girls doesn’t include confessionals from the cast members. Instead, Khloe steps in and narrates key moments throughout the show.
While the voice-over narration provides important context for major events throughout the series, fans feel like the show would have benefitted from traditional one-on-one confession scenes.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer said: “I really like #TheGirls! My only problem is that they really needed confessionals from the actual cast members. We shouldn’t need Khloe narrating when she’s barely there.”
Someone else agreed: “Yeah removing the confessionals off of #TheGirls was a bad idea. The show is good, but those confessionals would’ve made it that much better”
A third viewer chimed in: “This could have been a good show, but we don’t need Khloe narrating like it’s irritating. Also, removing the confessionals was a big mistake, it feels unfinished and more like a school project.”
However, others found the different format refreshing. “I actually really love the narration from Khloe vs a confessional. It gives the show a different feel than the typical reality tv shows,” posted one fan.
Another viewer added: “Keep the confessionals out. I actually really love the narration from Khloe […].”
It turns out the series originally filmed confessionals, but Khloe and the producers “took them out”. The cast were recently interviewed by Page Six, and revealed they didn’t know why their private confession scenes were removed from the final cut.
