Stiff Little Fingers returned to Custom House Square, Belfast, for Putting The Fast In Belfast 8 on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
The legendary Belfast punk band once again brought their annual hometown celebration to CHSq, with a stacked bill that also featured The Undertones, Ruts DC, Sabrejets and DJ Terri Hooley.
Now firmly established as one of the key fixtures in Belfast’s live music calendar, Putting The Fast In Belfast has become more than just another outdoor show. It is a celebration of punk, community and the enduring influence of a band whose songs remain deeply connected to the city that shaped them.
Formed in Belfast in 1977, Stiff Little Fingers helped define a generation with their urgent, politically charged sound. Their debut album, Inflammable Material, remains one of the landmark records of the punk era, and their continued connection with Belfast gives these Custom House Square shows a special sense of homecoming.
With The Undertones, Ruts DC and Sabrejets also on the bill, this year’s event brought together different strands of punk history for a night rooted in energy, attitude and Belfast spirit.
XS Noize photographer Bernie McAllister was there to capture the night.
