Acast and Kit have formed a partnership which will make it easier for creators to grow and monetise their audiences across both audio and text formats.
The collaboration provides platform access and hosting incentives, which are intended to reduce the barriers for podcasters who want to launch newsletters, as well as for newsletter creators interested in moving into audio.
This move highlights the shift in storytelling, which is now often across multiple platforms rather than being confined to just one.
By combining audio and text, Acast and Kit are offering creators the infrastructure to broaden their narrative reach and generate revenue in more places, including both inboxes and podcast feeds.
The partnership follows recent developments at Acast, including the introduction of video publishing on Apple Podcasts and the acquisition of creator network Backyard Ventures earlier this month.
Mike Leonard, Senior Director of Global Content Development at Acast, said: “The reach and influence of our creators spans far beyond podcasting, now living in video, on social feeds, and beyond.
“Newsletters, for example, have proven to be an impactful medium for diversifying content, discovering new audiences, and cultivating a following of engaged subscribers outside of podcasting.”
He added that the benefits work both ways, as newsletter writers can use podcasts to turn text into dynamic audio and reach new audiences.
Nathan Barry, Founder and CEO of Kit, said: “Email is still one of the best ways for creators to own the relationship with their audience.
“While people won’t read more than a few hundred words from their inbox, they’ll happily listen to a podcast directly into their ear for an hour.
“Our partnership with Acast makes it easy for creators to build both, so the audience creators own in the inbox is the same one listening to creators in their headphones.”
Creators joining through this partnership will have access to sign-on offers that scale according to the size of their existing audience.
