A new monthly podcast has launched to make policing in North Wales more accessible and transparent for local residents.
The podcast, ‘North Wales Matters with Andy Dunbobbin’, is hosted by Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales, Andy Dunbobbin, and will focus on the priorities set out in his Police and Crime Plan for the region.
The Police and Crime Plan was developed after consultation with residents, organisations and partner agencies, and outlines the strategic priorities for policing and community safety across North Wales up to 2028.
Andy’s priorities include strengthening neighbourhood policing, supporting victims, communities and businesses, and promoting a fair and effective criminal justice system.
The first episode introduces listeners to Andy, exploring his background, his journey into public service, and his election as North Wales PCC in 2021, as well as his re-election in 2024.
The episode also discusses his ongoing role as the public’s voice in policing across the region.
Andy explained the motivation behind the podcast: “We have launched this podcast because I want to bring policing closer to the people of North Wales.
“Residents deserve transparency, and they deserve to hear the stories of the community heroes who support victims, strengthen community ties, and help make North Wales one of the safest places to live.
“Through this podcast, I hope to give people a better understanding of policing and community safety issues, while highlighting the positive work being carried out across our region.”
Episodes are available to watch on YouTube and across the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s social media channels.
The next episode will focus on rural crime, with each monthly edition exploring a key theme in policing through interviews, conversations and visits to organisations and individuals who help reduce crime and support communities across North Wales.
