The singer could soon be swapping the stage for the Australian jungle and Bushtucker trials
Ricky Wilson is reportedly set to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle after years of turning down the show. The Kaiser Chiefs frontman has allegedly signed up for the 2026 series after ITV bosses spent years trying to persuade him to take part.
The singer is best known for fronting the Leeds indie band, which rose to fame during the 2000s with a series of chart topping hits. Ricky and his band are behind some of the era’s biggest anthems, including Ruby, I Predict a Riot and Oh My God.
Away from music, Ricky has also become a familiar face on prime time TV. He has previously appeared as a coach on The Voice UK from 2014 to 2016 and more recently on the BBC’s Extraordinary Portraits.
However now, the 48-year-old singer is said to have finally agreed to swap the stage for the jungle, with producers reportedly delighted to have landed the music star.
Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: “I’m A Celeb bosses have been trying to sign Ricky up for years, but he’s always politely declined. Now he’s finally given in. Bosses are overjoyed and think he will be a great addition to the camp.”
Ricky’s reported signing comes as speculation continues to build around the cast for this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.
Several other familiar faces have been linked with a trip Down Under, including Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page, Mis-Teeq singer Su-Elise Nash, Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova and Olympic figure skater Christopher Dean.
Paralympian and television presenter Ade Adepitan has also been rumoured to be joining the line-up for the ITV show.
Reports suggest ITV bosses are keen to make changes to the camp to accommodate the Paralympian, who has used a wheelchair since contracting polio as an infant.
A source previously told The Sun that Ade has been in “talks” with producers about appearing on the show.
They said: “Producers are currently looking at ways to adapt the camp to make it work for Ade. They think his infectious larger-than-life personality would make him a perfect campmate for the new series.”
Ade went on to become a successful wheelchair basketball player and represented Great Britain at the 2004 Summer Paralympics. He has since built a television career spanning more than two decades, becoming a well-known presenter across a range of programmes.
If he does enter the jungle, Ade would make history as the first contestant to use a wheelchair on I’m A Celebrity.
Although ITV has yet to officially confirm the 2026 line-up, with reported names remaining rumours until the broadcaster announces the campmates.
The official line-up for last years cast was announced in November, with many of the rumoured celebs being announced.
