The American activist was spotted getting cosy with a Scottish star during her visit
Monica Lewinsky has been snapped spending time with a Hollywood star following a whirlwind “24 hours in Scotland”.
The US activist, 53, enjoyed the company of her close friend Alan Cumming, 61, while visiting Pitlochry in Perthshire.
During her brief trip, Lewinsky attended Pitlochry Festival Theatre to watch the Scottish actor perform in the “incredible” production A History of Paper.
After the show, she took to Instagram to share a snap of her and Alan cosied up together on an armchair.
She captioned it: “24 hours in Scotland to see Alan Cumming in the incredible ‘A History of Paper’ at Pitlochry Festival Theatre. What performances!
“Run don’t walk to catch one of the remaining performances.”
Fans in the comments were delighted by their meet up as one wrote: “I adore this! Huge fan of you both.”
A second replied: “I’m not super into celebrity culture, but for some reason it absolutely tickles me that you two are good friends.”
Someone else added: “Your long lasting friendship is precious.”
Lewinsky and Cumming are known to have kept a close friendship for over two decades after the pair “immediately connected” during their first meeting at a a dinner party in 2000.
Earlier this year in January they reunited when Lewinsky was present to celebrate the Scots star being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California.
Cumming, who originally hails from Aberfeldy, shot to fame as an actor in the mid 90s.
He gained critical acclaim in London’s West End playing the Master of Ceremonies in Carbaret (1993) before he broke out globally with his role as programmer Boris Grishenko in the James Bond film Golden Eye (1995).
He is now the presenter of the US Traitors and often hosts major award ceremonies like the BAFTAs.
Meanwhile, Lewinsky first came to public attention as a White House intern embroiled in a sex scandal with then-President Bill Clinton.
She has since carved out a career as an activist and writer, frequently speaking out against cyberbullying.
In 2021, Lewinsky collaborated with Ryan Murphy as a producer on his third instalment of Impeachment: American Crime Story.
The 10-episode series chronicles her affair and scandal with President Clinton during the 1990s.
