Love Island winner Julia Majchrzak has quietly snubbed her ex Lorenzo Alessi amid the duo’s very public split.
ITV bombshell Julia confirmed their breakup on Instagram last Thursday (September 10), and explained how the relationship fell apart in an emotional interview with Polish publication Super Express.
The 26-year-old even broke down in tears as she revealed that their romance came under “pressure” when they were thrust into the spotlight after leaving the villa. But Lorenzo failed to publicly address the split until Sunday night (September 13).
The Londoner’s statement has already sparked backlash online, with some fans arguing it isn’t as personal as his ex’s announcement. And it seems Julia herself wasn’t completely satisfied with Lorenzo’s words because she unfollowed him shortly after the post.
Lorenzo had shared three images seemingly taken at the National Television Awards last week, two next to Julia and one solo shot. He wrote in the caption: “It’s been a difficult time for me to process the end of this chapter.
“I’m incredibly grateful for what was an amazing summer with beautiful memories and wish nothing but the best for Julia moving forward. We shared such an unforgettable experience, filled with so many moments that I will cherish forever.
“The two of us went on this rollercoaster of a journey together, the fun, the endless laughter, joy and everything in between. It was a special time in my life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
He went on to thank everyone “who made this an experience of a lifetime,” before adding: “I loved every second. And thank you all for the love and support, it has been genuinely overwhelming and means more to me than I can put into words.
“Here’s to the memories, the madness and the amazing adventures ahead.” Just days ago, Julia admitted she feels “a little heartbroken” by the split and visibly found it difficult to address exactly what went wrong.
She did, however, emphasise that her and Lorenzo “got on really well” in the villa but “it wasn’t real life”. The couple struggled to adjust after returning home and ultimately decided to part ways.
“We tried to figure it all out together. It’s just that it feels like there’s pressure and stress around all of it. And yeah, we really decided that maybe it’s simply time to part ways, and, for now, go down our separate paths,” she explained.
