Howard Donald performed at a small venue in the East Dunbartonshire town on Saturday
Take That star Howard Donald was spotted playing a DJ set in a local live music venue in Milngavie over the weekend. The 58-year-old singer returned to Charlie’s Loft on Saturday (September 12) for a sell out show and fans were not left disappointed.
Donald has been known to DJ in clubs across Europe for over twenty years with his high-energy tech and electric classic house sets. He is also a member of 90s boyband Take That alongside Mark Owens and Gary Barlow. His Milngavie performance this weekend was worlds apart from the band’s Hampden return this summer where they brought their Circus tour back to life to crowds of over 50,000.
In this much more intimate venue, hundreds attended to watch Donald’s DJ set which ran from 2pm until 10pm on Saturday night. Fans on TikTok shared footage of the star arriving outside the venue in his 26 plate Mercedes on Saturday afternoon.
The singer was filmed chatting to fans as several noted that he looked ‘knackered’ after he revealed he had injured himself on a floating assault course in the sea on holiday. Footage of his DJ set was also shared to TikTok with fans as he could be heard getting Scottish fans in the mood by remixing Calvin Harris’ 2018 track Promises.
After the show fans took to social media to gush over his performance as one wrote: “He was really good! I was down the front.” A second gushed: “Love Howard!!” A third wrote: “My fave man.”
Others were left shocked the singer was in the small East Dunbartonshire town as one wrote: “Wtf is he doing there?”
It’s not Howard’s only Scottish DJ date of the year as he will also be heading to City Falkirk in November to perform another huge daytime set.
Tickets are priced at £22.30 and are still available to purchase for the event on Saturday November 7.
