The sixth season of Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest has been shaped directly by feedback from its young audience, marking a new level of interactivity for the podcast.
Adam Gidwitz, the New York Times bestselling author and host, invited children and families to participate in the creative process through Adam’s Sneak Peeks, where early versions of stories were shared and listeners could suggest what they wanted to hear. Their input influenced the final stories featured in the new season.
Season six was recorded during live sessions with elementary school students at Brooklyn’s PS 321 and Staten Island’s PS 9 The Naples Street School.
The episodes capture reactions, questions, and laughter from the children, which has become a defining feature of the series.
This season introduces new voices and stories, including Filipina storyteller Liz Gotauco, another instalment of Sana Alimohamed’s 1001 Arabian Nights, and the podcast’s first Norse tales with fairy-tale expert Mr. Dragan.
Downloads for the series grew 77% in 2025, reflecting its increasing reach since launching in 2018.
Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest has received more than 12 million downloads and has won several awards, including the Webby Award for Best Kids & Family Podcast, Kidscreen’s Best Podcast, and a Parents’ Choice Gold Award. It is also nominated for a 2026 Webby Award.
Pinna subscribers can access season six exclusively on the Pinna platform, with new episodes released weekly until 8 October.
The season will be available on other podcast platforms early next year. Meanwhile, Adam’s Sneak Peeks are being released weekly in the main podcast feed, offering early-version recordings to all listeners.
Molly Barton, CEO of Pinna, said: “Adam has a rare talent for honouring children’s curiosity and bravery when navigating spooky tales.”
Adam said: “Kids told us what they wanted more of through the Sneak Peeks—and then I got to bring those stories into classrooms and hear their reactions in real time.”
Previous seasons of Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest remain available on Pinna and other podcast platforms.
