PAVE Studios has announced a new Crime House original series, Read Between the Lines, set to launch in early 2027 and available in both video and audio formats.
The weekly series will be hosted by Karen Read and Alan Jackson, focusing on real-world cases from local controversies to national headlines.
Each episode reconstructs events, scrutinises investigations and prosecutions, and highlights overlooked or misunderstood evidence and decisions.
Karen brings the perspective of a woman who has experienced being wrongly accused, while Alan draws on decades of experience as a trial lawyer.
As Karen explained: “Alan isn’t simply analysing these cases from the sideline. As one of the country’s most prominent trial attorneys, he’s represented high-profile clients in some of the most closely watched and scrutinised legal battles, many of which turned out to be far different from how they first appeared.”
Alan’s background provides insight into how legal cases are constructed, where they can falter, and the impact of media attention on proceedings.
He commented: “When the justice system falters, lives hang in the balance. Karen has a unique firsthand perspective of our system’s imperfections, understanding what it means when a legal case becomes a media narrative and the public reaches a verdict long before a courtroom does.”
Read Between the Lines uses true crime, legal analysis, and investigative journalism to offer what PAVE Studios describes as an “inside-out” perspective.
Max Cutler, Founder and CEO of PAVE Studios, says the hosts’ combined experiences bring a perspective rarely found in the genre.
The announcement follows recent news that two other Crime House shows, Clues and Mother Knows Murder, will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
All Crime House series, including Read Between the Lines, are accessible on YouTube and podcast platforms. The deal for the new series was brokered by UTA Creators, representing both hosts.
